SCHOLARSHIP FOR PASTORS

There is a huge shortage of Adventist Pastors in Tanzania. On average, every Adventist Pastor in Tanzania serves more than 12 churches and about 2,000 baptized members. More than 70% of the Adventist churches in Tanzania are in rural areas, so many Pastors have to travel long distances to reach their church members.

To help address this problem, TAUS provides scholarship to  help  Tanzania Unions and Local Conferences’ effort in preparing and educating qualified  students to meet the needs of an increasing church membership. The scholarship will help provide pastors who are biblical scholars and committed leaders equipped to shepherd the church and redeem people to the glory of God.

The Purpose of the TAUS Scholarship Program is to provide scholarships to Theology or Religion students attending/will be attending University of Arusha in Tanzania or Bugema University in Uganda. The scholarship is intended to help them pursue or complete their first degree program in Theology or Religion. TAUS hope that this scholarship will empower church members who have demonstrated God’s calling to the gospel ministry in the designated area with need-based educational resources.

The TAUS Scholarship applies to tuition and fees only. The individual maximum award per year is up to US$900.  The total tuition cost for one student for a three-year degree program  at Bugema University in Uganda and University of Arusha in Tanzania, is approximately US$2,700.
